Gmail's new compose and reply experience

Gmail has come up with a new additive feature, ‘Compose and Reply Experience’. It makes you write messages in a much simplified, laconic way, increasing your convenience and ease.
Highlights of the feature, as Google says are:
  • Fast: Compose messages right from your inbox.
  • Simple: Redesigned with a clean, streamlined look.
  • Powerful: Check emails as you're typing, minimize drafts for later, and even compose two messages at once.
Why Don’t You Try It Out?
Once you click the Compose button, click the "new compose experience" link right next to the Labels button at the top of the message. Until the change is fully launched, you'll be able to choose whether you use the new or current experience.
If you change your mind or if you need to use a feature that isn't available yet, you can switch back to the old experience at any time. Here's how:
  1. Click Compose
  2. At the bottom corner of the message pane, click the More menu icon More options drop-down arrow next to the Discard button.
  3. Select "Switch back to old compose."

  1. I signed up for the new compose and got frsutarted to an extent that I forgot what I had to send. The cursor goes missing, there is no bullets or any special formatting although there seems to be a way to have the formatting done. I am happy with what I have. Anyway, do not try this on FF and I have no clue if the other browsers have same issue.

  2. Tazaguru, there is no issue with the browsers. It is this new feature that is causing trouble. Google says it simplifies emailing, but it seems to add inconvenience.
I too had to instantly switch back to the older format of composing. And guess? I am happy.
Thanks Google, for causing us trouble... again!
