How to Send Self-Destructing Messages

A lot of people are sceptical about their messages being read or stored for a longer time than required, or whatsoever. How about you write a message and it gets deleted after being read, just like that Mission Impossible movie thing – “This Message Will Self-Destruct”.

Here is how you do it, visit a web-based service (mentioned further below), write your message, click create link, send the link to people you want.

Here check out these two services:

1. PrivNote

  1. Create a note and get a link
  2. Copy the link and send it to whom you want to read the note
  3. The note will self-destruct after being read

privnote

Have you ever wanted to send confidential information within your work environment, to family or friends, but were afraid to do so over the internet, because some malicious hacker could be spying on you?

Privnote is a free web based service that allows you to send top secret notes over the internet. It's fast, easy, and requires no password or user registration at all.

Just write your note, and you'll get a link. Then you copy and paste that link into an email (or instant message) that you send to the person who you want to read the note. When that person clicks the link for the first time, they will see the note in their browser and the note will automatically self-destruct; which means no one (even that very same person) can read the note again. The link won't work anymore.

You can optionally choose to be notified when your note is read by leaving your email and a reference for the note.

2. OnesShares

Sending confidential information such as passwords, account information and other sensitive data in emails and IM is not necessarily safe. That data is typically stored with remnants of the bits in places you don't need it to be.

3. TMWSD (This Message Will Self Destruct)

TMWSD is a secure messaging service. Messages sent are encrypted, securely transferred, and automatically deleted when they are retrieved.

Best 10 Softwares To Install On Your New Computer

A new computer is always a new curiosity factor. When a user buys a new PC, he tries to personalize it. Make it more performing and make most of the machine, paid for. Many times, have we seen users searching web for the 'best softwares to install on computer'. Even though your PC comes with many pre-installed applications, but those are not sufficient. You know, "you can always do more."

So, in this post, Link Buddy will link you to the best free softwares, you would love to install and use.

1. Recuva

recuva

Recuva is an excellent (and free) software to recover deleted files. But why do we need it now? That’s because there’s a lot of deleting and uninstalling happening with CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller, PC Decrapifier and all. If you suddenly delete something that you shouldn’t, and then want to recover it, you would have this tool to fall back on. Download Here.

2. Microsoft Security Essentials

ms security essentials

Microsoft Security Essentials might go down in history as one of the best free software released by this tech giant. This tool has given a number of antivirus vendors, especially those who provide full-fledged free versions, a run for their money. It can protect your PC from viruses, spyware and malware. Download Here.

3. Ninite

ninite

Ninite will cover the “how to install” part when installing new stuff on your PC. This all-in-one installer lets you pick software and install them at one go. And the choices of course are very diverse. Check out our previous guide on batch installing programs with Ninite.

4. Macrium Reflect or Windows Backup and Restore

macrium reflect

We already know the importance of creating a system image and how to create it using the built-in Windows backup and restore center (you should also create a system repair disc). Now, this might not be available in all editions of Windows so I’d suggest a worthy, and more powerful alternative called Macrium Reflect. Use it to create an initial system image, and for other such tasks as you start using the computer. Download Here.

5. PC Decrapifier

pc decrapifier

Most of the branded laptops and desktops come bloated with proprietary (and useless) software which you should get rid of if you want your computer to function properly in the long run. Hence the old and trusted PC Decrapifier becomes a must-install software for new Windows computer owners to weed out junk software and make space for better stuff. Download Here.

6. EASEUS Partition Master

easeus partition manager

EASEUS partition manager is a nifty tool to create and manage disk partitions on Windows systems. Even if you created partitions during the setup process, and know how to use the disk management console to create partitions, I’d recommend you download and keep this tool. That’s because it offers some amazing features like resize, merge or split partitions, convert FAT to NTFS, convert primary partition to logical and vice versa, and much more.
The personal edition of the tool is free. It has professional and business editions too.

8. CCleaner

ccleaner

You didn’t think I’d give a miss to CCleaner in this list, did you? I am yet to find a better tool to perform a routine PC maintenance and get rid of temporary files and data. The tool is as amazing as it ever was. In fact, better, as it continues to be regularly updated. And as you’d have guessed, we wrote a guide on using CCleaner too. Download Here.

9. VLC and Chrome / Firefox

Lastly, but by no means the leastly (or least, whatever), we have our usual suspects – VLC media player and Chrome and / or Firefox, which I am clubbing together in the same point. Oh, and you don’t need to install these separately because Ninite will take care of that. Just make sure that you tick their names in Ninite before you start off with the installation.

10. Dropbox or Syncback SE

dropbox

The thing about data backup is that people tend to procrastinate on it, which ultimately ends up in a crisis situation when they have lost important data, and had no backup whatsoever. Hence an online backup tool like Dropbox, and an offline sync and backup tool like Syncback SE is included in this list of immediate installations for a new PC. Get either, or both of them. I use both – Dropbox for online backup and Syncback to keep my data synchronized with an external hard drive.

Ninite - Automatic Multiple Application Installer And Updater

Ninite - Batch Programme Installer And Updater For Your Computers.

When you reinstall windows to your computer, the most bright part is the performance of the computer that is rejuvenated. On the other hand, worst and freaking part - to reinstall all the daily used softwares. This is the most painful part. But, not any more. With Ninite, let you take the rest and it all for you.
What Does Ninite Do?

Ninite lists all the common programs a Windows user is likely to use and packs their latest versions in a single installer. Yes, a single installer! You can even customize the applications you would want that installer to have. It then silently installs all those applications in the background saving you tons of time.

How To Do It With Ninite?
Link Buddy... has taken it a pledge, to link you. And, to teach you. Here, we go with doing away with Ninite.

Ten Ways To Access Blocked Websites

blocked-websites
Internet filtering and limited access to web has set a new trend these days. Companies, organizations, schools, universities and business entities restrict their internet access to many websites like YouTube and other similar sites. Their intentions are laconic, but people hate to be limited.
So, here is your Link Buddy, linking you again to the web. Teaching top ten ways to unblocking blocked websites. Let us together do it!

Ten ways to access blocked websites:

1. Use Toolbars and Firefox add-ons.
Toolbars and
Firefox add-ons are in fact software applications that work on specific browsers and with a simple click you can enable or disable online anonymity.

2. Use IP address of the website instead of URL.
To use the IP address of a website instead of URL, you must first find its IP. To do this open command prompt and type: “ping domain.com”.

3. Use Google cache.
In the Google search field type cache: before the URL of the blocked website. For example type cache:http://www.domain.com

4. Use Web2Mail service.

Web2Mail it is a free email service that can sent to your email address specific web pages. You sign up for an account and get set to receive specific websites by email.

5. Use Internet Archive.
Internet Archive allows you to view blocked websites through the Wayback Machine. This will retrieve all pages of a specific website indifferent if the website is blocked.

6. Use VPN connections.
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is like a tunnel over the public network. The advantage of using VPNs over web proxies is that VPNs are more secure because they are using advanced encryption and allow you to access all the applications (mail, chat, browser etc) in complete anonymity and not only the web sites. The most known free VPN is
Hotspot Shield.

7. Use translation services.
Introduce the link of the blocked website in the translation field (for example in
Google Translator) and choose a random language to translate from because translation from English to English is not supported.

8. Change the http of an URL into https
This is the  easiest way to access blocked websites. Of course, this might not work every time but you have many other solutions also. This is the fastest one.

9. Use web proxies.
Many free online services allow you to access blocked websites through a proxy server. A proxy server is an intermediary between the user and the server where the request was send. Here is a list with the most known resources of web proxies:
Proxy.org, HideMyAss.com, Kortaz.com, KProxy.com and Anonymouse.org

10. Use Hide IP software.
These are easy to use and even if the main functionality is to hide IP address and unblock websites, there are applications that can provide you more than that – like cleaning online tracks, testing proxies, manually adding proxy etc. Usually if you choose a free software, then this will provide you a minimal number of proxies and no other features than hiding IP address. Not My IP is one of the latest free hide IP address software that has already gained a large market followed by the old
UltraSurf which is already very popular. Regarding paid applications that provide more features and have a complex structure, my recommendations are IP Privacy and Hide My IP.
