Installing Android On Computer

If you ever thought of running android on your computer, but do not know how to get through, then this post is the exact read you need. The first thing you should get to know is what you need to get Android working on your computer, and the things are:

1. Computer, obviously which you have.

2. Virtual Machine, it could be any, VirtualBox, which is free is what we used. Download here

3. Android OS, of course the latest version available. Download Here


Now that, you have got all the required pieces, let us get them together to make DroidBook. Follow our easy step by step instructions and mess around!

1. Install the VirtualBox and run the programme after installation finishes.12. Click the NEW tab and

- Name: Give any desired name

- Type: Linux

- Version: Linux 2.6/3.x ; now click NEXT.2

3. Now you need to allocate memory size to your Virtual Android Machine, do not over-allocate it otherwise your computer will work lazily.

-Memory Size: 1024 MB, check what you can allocate and set accordingly.3

4. After you click NEXT again, keep going by:

- Click Create

- then, click next

- select dynamically allocated, and click next.

4 5. Select a size to allocate to your virtual hard drive. We recommend using just default 8GB, but again it depends on your resources. But do not waste it.

- Select size, and click create5

6.  Now you will the screen displaying similar options as in the picture above,

6 - Click on the Storage, and

- simply point the virtual machine to download Android OS,

- click on empty under Controller: IDE

then click on the disc icon on the right side and select Choose virtual cd/dvd disk file

- browse and select the downloaded Android ISO and

- click OK and START the new machine7 

7. After you start the machine, chose to Install Android and press enter.

- choose: Create/modify partition

- navigate to new > primary > press enter again > bootable > write > type yes and press enter

- after it finishes, choose quit

- Keep choosing YES and proceed forward, until you reach the below depicted scenario, select to run Android

9. It will take a little time, setup your Android, but before that, Disable Mouse Integration, from the Machine tab in the upper left corner, to see the mouse cursor.

And finally after you have setup your Android, like in the image below.
